You're aware that they're only characters in a novel, right? And that Steve would probably hit Darren regardless of him being his best friend- not hard, but he'd hit him. A lot of friends hit their friends playfully.

Steve: It's a rare phenomenon. Ignore her, she's crazy; her whole family is. Bunch a loonies, and she might even be contagious. You've gotten your crazy shot right? Ummmm...yeah, I'm aware that they're copyrighted fictional characters and all, but when I really bond with characters they tend to develop a personality in my mind. It's hard to explain and I know it's not something that happens to everyone...It's like having an imaginary friend. And sometimes they beat me with a magical stick called the "Wand Of Motivation" that kicks my but into gear to write fanfiction or draw lots of pretty fanart for them; it kinda looks like a nail encrusted baseball bat.

Steve: We develop different personalities though, depending on our experiences with her and other Muses, both from our own series and other series of anime, manga, books, TV shows and even some movies. For example, Darren and I are still besty-best friends, even though we're both vampires and I don't go around hitting or choking him. ::nods affirmatively::
Darren: Yeeeaaah, you've only tried to stab yourself in the heart with a stake in the hopes that I'd bring you back as an Akuma.
Steve: if stupid Allen hadn't stopped me....
Darren: ::sighs and pats Steve's back:: There, there Steve...I like you as a "vampire," there's no need to change that....

Sorry. They really like you and it's rare that Muses just like someone I don't even know, let alone Muses I hardly ever see. I don't want to discourage them from speak--

Steve: WELL MAYBE WE'D BE AROUND MORE IF YOU WERE MORE INVOLVED WITH OUR SERIES!!

Darren: ::ignores the fighting that has broken out between Steve and Koku:: Well, um, I can answer any questions you have about Muses, if you wanted to know more about them. Koku was right though, we're only so interested in you because, quite frankly, she hardly pays us any mind and the only other CdF fan she knew was her cousin who's fallen out of love with us, so we're a bit attention deprived right now. And, ummm, well, take everything Steve says with a grain of salt, okay? I don't really need to explain that he's a bit of a handful, right? ::flinches at the sound of a crash behind him:: Oh, ya know, just ignore us; we'll understand why...
Steve: ::jumps on Darren's back, seemingly escaping the fight:: Wait?! NO! You Can't Ignore Us! You're our sibling in blood now! We're a freakin' clan!! You Belong With Us!!

Steve!! Stop being creepy and trying to kidnap the nice writer! And I Wasn't Done Yelling At You! D<

Darren: Well, I wouldn't blame you....::hopeless little smile, almost being strangled by Steve attempting not to be pried off his back by Koku::

It's okay, I get where you're coming from.
When I walk around, I picture them in my head all the time.
However, instead of seeing them as both vampires, I use the human versions and develop their personalities more.

Also, did you know that Darren Shan is coming out with a Larten Crepsley series in October, 2010?
